Joshua Dilley, a 38-year-old resident of Las Vegas, Nevada, tragically lost his life on March 2, 2024, in a suspected murder-suicide incident. The event occurred at an apartment complex located in the 3000 block of South Decatur Boulevard, near Sahara Avenue.
According to reports from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, dispatch received a call about gunfire at the apartment complex shortly after midnight, at approximately 12:11 a.m.
Upon arrival, officers discovered two men with apparent gunshot wounds inside an apartment. Medical personnel pronounced both individuals dead at the scene.
LVMPD Homicide Detectives investigated the incident and determined that Dilley and his roommate had been involved in a verbal dispute. The altercation escalated when Dilley reportedly told his roommate that he needed to move out. The roommate initially left the premises but later returned and fatally shot Dilley before taking his own life.
The Clark County Coroner's Office officially identified Joshua Dilley as the victim in this tragic incident. The identity of the other man involved was still pending at the time of the initial reports.
This devastating event has left Dilley's family unprepared and struggling to cope with the sudden loss. His sister, Chastity Wuensch, has organized a fundraising campaign to help cover the costs of returning Joshua's remains to his final resting place, as he did not have life insurance.
