On a cold Tuesday, the 22nd of January, 2019, the life of 24-year-old Hispanic male, Josue Lizardo Contreras-Verdin, was tragically cut short in Las Vegas, Nevada. His death was the result of a fatal gunshot wound, an act of violence that would later be described by authorities as a willful, unlawful, and premeditated killing.
The circumstances surrounding Contreras-Verdin's death point to a robbery gone horrifically wrong.
It is believed that he met with at least one individual before the fatal shooting occurred. This encounter escalated into a violent confrontation where a firearm was used, leading to Contreras-Verdin being shot. In the aftermath of the shooting, an investigation led to the indictment of two men, Christopher Ashoff and Devin Campbell. They were charged with murder with the use of a deadly weapon, robbery with the use of a deadly weapon, and conspiracy to commit robbery.
