On the evening of October 2, 2022, a dispute in Las Vegas, Nevada, turned fatal for 30-year-old Rasheem Waters, a Black / African American male. The incident occurred near the intersection of East Tropicana Avenue and South Nellis Boulevard. According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, Waters was involved in a physical altercation with another male stemming from an ongoing dispute.
During the fight, the other man produced a firearm and shot Waters in the chest.
The suspect then fled the scene. Police were called to the area at 7:48 p.m. Waters was transported to Sunrise Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The Clark County coroner's office later confirmed that the cause of his death was multiple gunshot wounds to the chest.
