In the late hours of a Saturday night in Las Vegas, on May 8, 2021, the life of 29-year-old Alfonso Turner, a Black / African American man, was tragically cut short. Just before 11 p.m., the sound of gunfire pierced the night near Amberleigh Lane and South Mountain Vista Street, prompting a notification from the city's ShotSpotter system.
