In the early morning hours of August 30, 2020, 19-year-old Michael Kenneth Mowry III, a White/Caucasian male, was tragically killed in his Rochester, New Hampshire, apartment. His life was cut short when four masked men broke into his home at 64 Monroe Drive in what investigators have described as a home invasion robbery. Mowry was found in his bedroom, having suffered a fatal gunshot wound to the neck. A 911 call was placed at approximately 3:15 a.m.
to report the shooting, and upon arrival, first responders found Mowry deceased.
The New Hampshire Department of Justice is actively investigating the case, which has been ruled a homicide. While authorities have identified a vehicle that the four assailants used to flee the scene, no arrests have been made in connection with Mowry's murder. Investigators have announced that they believe the men responsible have connections to the Haverhill, Massachusetts, and the greater Merrimack Valley area. The other young people who were living with Mowry at the time have been cooperative with the investigation and are not considered suspects.
The case remains unsolved, and law enforcement continues to seek information from the public to bring those responsible for Michael Mowry's death to justice. A reward of up to $1,000 is being offered for tips that lead to an arrest. Mowry's family remembers him as a "generous and loving kid" who had just moved into his first apartment and had a bright future ahead of him, including aspirations to play baseball for Great Bay Community College.
