Amidst a scorching 105-degree heatwave in Las Vegas on June 4, 2026, a dispute between two men at Maslow Park in the east valley escalated into a fatal shooting. Alveon "Beasty" James was killed in the incident. The morning of the shooting, James was with Michael "Trapp" Tate, 26, and a few other people described as transient, all seeking refuge from the oppressive heat under a pergola in the park.
