On a summer night in Las Vegas, a party turned deadly, claiming the life of 22-year-old Zayveon Scott, a Black / African American male. The tragic events unfolded on August 6, 2023, at an apartment complex located on South Buffalo Drive. An altercation broke out during the gathering, which escalated with devastating speed into gunfire. In the chaos that ensued, Scott was struck by multiple bullets.
He was not discovered by police at the scene of the shooting.
Instead, in a desperate attempt to save his life, he was taken to St. Rose San Martin Hospital. Despite the efforts of medical staff, the wounds proved to be fatal, and he was pronounced deceased. Another young life, that of 19-year-old Breeana Webb, was also lost in the same violent incident. The Clark County Coroner's office would later confirm that both Scott and Webb died from multiple gunshot wounds, officially ruling their deaths as homicides.
In the aftermath of the double homicide, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department's Homicide Section launched a full investigation into the shooting. Detectives worked to piece together the sequence of events that led to the fatal altercation at the apartment party. To date, however, no arrests have been made in connection with the killings. The case remains open, and law enforcement officials continue to appeal to the public for any information that might lead to the identification and apprehension of the person or persons responsible for the deaths of Zayveon Scott and Breeana Webb.
