In the early evening of February 5, 2019, a dispute in a Las Vegas apartment complex parking lot turned deadly, claiming the life of 30-year-old Shane Pacada. The incident occurred around 5:45 p.m. at the Mosaic Apartments located at 6355 S. Riley St.. Pacada, a resident of the complex, and a co-worker became involved in an argument with another man who was reportedly blocking the driveway.
The confrontation escalated tragically when the man produced a firearm and opened fire.
Pacada was struck by multiple gunshots to the chest. He was rushed to University Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries the following day, on February 6, 2019. His death was officially ruled a homicide. Pacada's co-worker was also wounded in the shooting, sustaining a gunshot to the arm, but was reported to be in stable condition. The shooter fled the scene immediately after the incident in a red Camaro.
The investigation into Shane Pacada's murder led authorities to identify 26-year-old Dishan Lowe as the primary suspect. A significant breakthrough in the case came when Lowe's girlfriend, who was present in the car during the shooting, came forward and provided a statement to the police, corroborating details of the argument and the subsequent shooting. Following the issuance of an arrest warrant, Dishan Lowe turned himself in to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department on February 13, 2019. He was subsequently booked into the Clark County Detention Center and faced charges of murder with a deadly weapon and attempted murder with a deadly weapon.
