In the northwest region of Las Vegas, a dispute between roommates escalated into deadly violence on May 23, 2024, claiming the life of Geraldo Rodriguez-Martinez, a 37-year-old Black / African American male. The incident unfolded in the area of Durango Drive and Elkhorn Road, where gunfire erupted and tragically struck Rodriguez-Martinez. According to initial police investigations, he was an innocent bystander who found himself in the crossfire of the altercation.
Two other individuals, a man and a woman, also sustained injuries during the shooting but they were not considered to be life-threatening.
