Ah’Sioni Henderson was a 16-year-old Black/African American male known to his family as a loving and funny young man who was selfless and protective of those around him. His aunt remembered him as a sweet soul who loved music, sports, and babies. He was a student at Cimarron-Memorial High School in Las Vegas, Nevada, where he left behind a family that said a piece of them would be forever missing.
On the evening of April 9, 2024, Henderson was shot and killed at an apartment complex
near Buffalo Drive and Lake Mead Boulevard. Police responded to reports of a shooting around 9:22 p.m. and found Henderson on a sidewalk near the complex's playground. He had been shot multiple times in the back and neck. Emergency responders transported him to University Medical Center, where he was pronounced deceased. The coroner later confirmed his death was a homicide caused by multiple gunshot wounds.
Investigators determined that the shooting was the result of a planned robbery. According to police reports, Henderson had asked an acquaintance to help him sell a handgun online. That acquaintance, along with two other teens, allegedly conspired to steal the firearm from Henderson. Surveillance footage reportedly showed two suspects waiting under a staircase before running up to Henderson and shooting him. One of the suspects was then seen taking the firearm from Henderson's pocket before all three fled the scene in a black Dodge Charger.
A multi-state investigation led to the arrests of three teenage suspects. On April 16, police in Las Vegas arrested 17-year-old Jordan Da’Sharp Brown. On April 23, authorities in Spanish Fork, Utah, arrested 18-year-old DeAjai Guaydacan. The third suspect, 18-year-old Lennix M. Dockery, was taken into custody on April 27 in Rathdrum, Idaho, by a joint SWAT team.
All three suspects were eventually extradited to Las Vegas and booked into the Clark County Detention Center. They face charges including open murder, conspiracy to commit murder, and robbery with a deadly weapon. The three appeared in court together in late May 2024, where their arraignment was scheduled for a later date and a death row panel review was set. As of May 2024, the case is proceeding through the court system.
