In the early morning hours of September 21, 2013, a dispute on a Las Vegas road escalated into a fatal encounter for 23-year-old Kristopher Stafford. The White / Caucasian male was a passenger in a vehicle when another car reportedly cut them off. An ensuing confrontation led to Stafford striking the other vehicle with an object. In response, multiple gunshots were fired from the suspect's car, striking Stafford.
Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department officers responded to a 9-1-1 call
around 1:44 a.m. in the 6800 block of Lone Mountain Road. Upon arrival, they found Stafford in the roadway with several gunshot wounds. Despite immediate medical attention, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The Clark County coroner's office later confirmed that Stafford's death was a result of multiple gunshot wounds.
Witnesses reported that the shots were fired from a dark-colored or black car, which then sped away from the scene. The vehicle was said to have tail light damage. At the time of the incident, Stafford was an employee at Acrylic Tank Manufacturing, where he was remembered as a dedicated and hardworking individual. A memorial fund was created to assist his family with expenses following the tragedy.
Despite investigations by law enforcement, the individuals responsible for Kristopher Stafford's death have never been apprehended, and no arrests have been made in the case. The case remains unsolved, and authorities have continued to seek information from the public to bring those responsible to justice.
