On the evening of December 11, 2025, a violent confrontation unfolded at a residence in northwest Las Vegas, resulting in the death of 36-year-old male Daniel Sheahan. Officers from the Metropolitan Police Department were dispatched to the 4500 block of North Vogue Street, near West Craig Road and North Tenaya Way, around 5:30 p.m. after receiving reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, emergency responders discovered two men suffering from gunshot wounds inside the home.
Sheahan was pronounced dead at the scene, having sustained multiple gunshot wounds during the incident.
Detectives determined that Sheahan had been visiting a friend at the property when an intruder entered the residence without permission. The individual, identified as 37-year-old Eddie Wide III, confronted Sheahan, leading to a verbal altercation between the two men. The exchange escalated rapidly when Wide produced a firearm and fired several times at Sheahan. Following the attack, Wide turned the weapon on himself, inflicting a fatal wound. He was transported to a nearby hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.
The Clark County Coroner’s Office subsequently ruled Sheahan’s death a homicide and Wide’s death a suicide caused by a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. Investigators revealed that Wide was a resident of Henderson and had been employed as a juvenile probation officer with Clark County since 2014. Authorities described the event as a domestic violence-related murder-suicide, noting that the gunman had entered the home uninvited before initiating the deadly sequence of events. No other suspects were sought in connection with the case.
