LaGary Green, a 44-year-old Black male, was fatally shot on the evening of September 27, 2021, in central Las Vegas, Nevada. The incident began with a physical altercation inside a 24-hour laundromat on South Maryland Parkway. The fight, which involved Green and at least one other man, spilled out into the parking lot, where the violence escalated into a shooting.
Emergency crews were dispatched to the scene shortly after 8 p.m.
following numerous 911 calls that reported shots being fired. Upon arrival, they found Green suffering from a gunshot wound. He was quickly transported to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center for treatment. Despite the efforts of medical personnel, Green was pronounced dead from a gunshot wound to the chest.
According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, the individuals involved in the altercation with Green fled the scene on foot immediately following the shooting. At the time, investigators described the suspects as men estimated to be between the ages of 18 and 25. Homicide detectives began an investigation, speaking with several witnesses who were at the laundromat when the initial fight broke out. Authorities urged anyone with information about the shooting to come forward.
