In the heat of a Las Vegas summer, the story of Samuel Lorenzo Villanueva, a 29-year-old Hispanic male, came to a tragic end. On July 7, 2016, his body was discovered in an apartment located in the 3600 block of Arville Street, not far from the bustling Las Vegas Strip. A strong odor emanating from the unit had prompted a call to the police, leading to the grim finding.
An investigation by the Clark County coroner's office determined that Villanueva had died from multiple stab and cut
wounds. His death was officially ruled a homicide. As detectives delved into the circumstances surrounding his death, their focus soon turned to his wife, 29-year-old Nadia Renteria Bremer-Leroy.
The couple had been married for a short time, having wed on April 3, 2016, just over three months before Villanueva's body was found. Authorities reported that Bremer-Leroy had not been seen since before the discovery of her husband's decomposing corpse. Subsequently, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department identified her as the primary suspect in the case. An arrest warrant was issued for Bremer-Leroy on a charge of murder with a deadly weapon.
