On January 13, 2023, 15-year-old Dwayne Scott "Dweezy" Dzubay-Percy was found deceased in the driver's seat of a crashed Kia on Dupont Avenue North in Minneapolis. The Hennepin County Medical Examiner determined the cause of death to be a gunshot wound to the chest, ruling it a homicide. Authorities believe that shots were fired into the vehicle from another car shortly before the crash. A ShotSpotter detected 14 rounds of gunfire nearby just minutes before the incident.
