On December 2, 2023, 23-year-old Darien Jamal Roberson of St. Paul was fatally shot in the parking lot of a strip mall in Edina, Minnesota. The incident occurred around 9 p.m. near the 3500 block of West 70th Street. Officers arrived to find Roberson with life-threatening injuries; despite efforts to save him, he was pronounced dead at the scene. The suspect, 21-year-old Kayvon J. Madison of Minneapolis, remained at the scene and was arrested.
