On the evening of September 3, 2024, a dispute in the Stevens Square neighborhood of Minneapolis turned deadly, claiming the life of DeJaun Marquise Michael Hall, a 24-year-old Black male. The incident unfolded at approximately 7:00 p.m. near the intersection of East 19th Street and 1st Avenue South, a location that police later noted had been problematic in the past.
