On August 7, 2023, 28-year-old Ian Cole Fox of Winchester, Kentucky, was fatally shot while visiting family in McCune, Kansas. The incident occurred at approximately 12:53 a.m. at 709 5th Street. Emergency responders arrived to find Fox with a gunshot wound; he was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities detained and arrested the suspect, identified as Fox's grandfather, who was present at the location.
