In the early afternoon of March 21, 2024, a call for medical attention brought first responders to the 200 block of Southwest Boulevard in Kansas City, Kansas. There, they discovered 49-year-old Lyle Garrett suffering from a single gunshot wound. He was a resident of Kansas City, Kansas.
Garrett was rushed to a nearby hospital in critical condition. Despite the efforts of medical personnel, he succumbed to his injuries the following day, on March 22, 2024.
The Kansas City, Kansas Police Department's Major Case Unit is leading the investigation into the shooting.
As of late March 2024, authorities had not released any information about a possible suspect or suspects, and no arrests had been announced in connection with the homicide.
