On December 21, 1987, Charles W. Thompson, a prominent attorney and Democratic Chairman of the Wyandotte County Central Committee, was murdered in Kansas City, Kansas. His body was discovered around 8:15 a.m. on the sidewalk in front of Jalisco's Restaurant at 5000 State Avenue. Thompson had been shot multiple times in the upper torso.
