In the quiet hours of a December evening in Kansas City, Kansas, a life was tragically cut short. Gregory Stallings, a 58-year-old Black / African American male, was fatally shot on December 20, 2020. His body was discovered by police the following evening, around 6:30 p.m., in the 2500 block of North 18th Street, prompting a homicide investigation by the Kansas City, Kansas Police Department.
The investigation into Stallings' death led authorities to seek help from the public.
Detectives with the Major Case Unit released photographs of a person of interest who was seen in the vicinity of the crime. In their efforts to piece together the events of that fatal day, police also circulated images of two different vehicles of interest. One was described as a dark-colored sedan, while another was identified as a silver Dodge Caravan that may have been connected to the killing.
Despite these public appeals for information, the case has grown cold. No arrests have ever been announced in connection with the shooting death of Gregory Stallings.
