On a tragic evening in Wichita, Kansas, the life of 26-year-old Rolando Holt, a Black/African American male, was cut short by gunfire. The date was December 3, 2017, and Holt was at a residence in the 2600 block of East Wilma, visiting with friends. The gathering took a fatal turn just before 8 p.m. when two unknown individuals were permitted to enter the home.
The visitors met with Holt in the kitchen of the house. It was there that the scene descended into violence as shots were fired.
Holt was struck by multiple bullets. Another man who was also present in the house sustained a gunshot wound during the incident and was later located on Green Street.
Following the burst of violence, the suspects immediately fled the scene, leaving chaos and tragedy in their wake. When emergency services arrived, Rolando Holt was found deceased in the kitchen. Despite the presence of several other men in the house at the time of the shooting, the suspects managed to escape and have not been apprehended.
The investigation into the murder of Rolando Holt was launched by the Wichita Police Department. However, the case has grown cold over time, and no arrests have been made in connection with his death. The identities of the two individuals who entered the home and opened fire remain unknown.
