On August 21, 2024, the Wichita Police Department discovered the body of 39-year-old Kyce Allen Barnes, also known as Kowley Kayo, in the trunk of a white Mercedes abandoned in a field near West Kellogg and Tyler Road in Wichita, Kansas. Barnes had sustained multiple gunshot wounds to his upper and lower body and was wrapped in blood-stained bedding. Investigators traced the crime scene to the nearby Delux Inn at 8401 W. Kellogg Drive.
