In the early hours of a summer morning in Wichita, Kansas, a dispute between acquaintances turned deadly, leaving a 34-year-old White/Caucasian man, Nicholas Shane Hardcastle, dead from a gunshot wound. The incident, which took place on June 29, 2023, unfolded around 1 a.m. in the 200 block of South Minnesota. According to police, a verbal argument between Hardcastle and another man escalated into a physical altercation, during which a single shot was fired.
