On June 29, 2023, 34-year-old Nicholas Shane Hardcastle of Wichita, Kansas, died following a shooting incident. The event occurred around 1 a.m. in the 200 block of South Minnesota, where an argument between Hardcastle and an acquaintance escalated into a physical altercation, culminating in Hardcastle being shot. He was transported to a local hospital but succumbed to his injuries shortly thereafter.
