In the late hours of March 3, 2017, a tragedy unfolded in a duplex in Wichita, Kansas, that would cut short the life of 16-year-old Casey James Lawrukiewicz, a White/Caucasian male. Just before midnight, inside a residence in the 1700 block of South Yale, the teenager was with two acquaintances. The atmosphere, described by those involved, was one of casual recklessness, with a misguided sense of amusement that would prove fatal.
