On the evening of March 21, 2024, a burst of violence in a smoke shop parking lot in Wichita, Kansas, cut short the life of 20-year-old Jaden Wilson, a Black male. Wilson was sitting in his girlfriend's car in the 2200 block of North Grove when the attack occurred around 5:30 p.m. A minivan pulled up, and a former friend of Wilson's, a 17-year-old, emerged with a gun.
