On January 5, 2023, 43-year-old Mareo B. Dupree Sr. was fatally shot in Wichita, Kansas. The incident occurred in the 2300 block of North Piatt, where Dupree was inside a residence. A 47-year-old man, identified as Jamar White, drove by the home multiple times, firing shots at the house. Dupree sustained a gunshot wound to his torso and was transported to a local hospital, where he later died.
