Arturo Ortiz, a 23-year-old man from Mount Vernon, Washington, was shot and killed on Thursday evening, June 11, 2026, in the south end of the city. Friends identified him as the victim, and he was remembered as a charismatic young man who worked in the fields of the Skagit Valley.
