On a tragic Sunday evening in Selma, Alabama, the life of 24-year-old Lakin Keanna Smith was cut short. On March 5, 2023, in the 100 block of Cummings Circle, a burst of gunfire erupted around 11:00 p.m., leaving a scene of chaos and sorrow. Smith, a Black female, was fatally wounded in the shooting. Another individual, 24-year-old Cameron Struggs, was also killed in the incident and was found deceased at the scene with gunshot wounds.
