On June 11, 2022, at approximately 8:30 p.m., Selma police officers responded to reports of gunfire on the 1800 block of Alabama Avenue. Upon arrival, they discovered 23-year-old Aiesha Franklin, a resident of Minter, Alabama, who had been fatally shot while seated in her parked vehicle. Despite immediate attention, Franklin was pronounced deceased at the scene.
