On June 4, 2024, at approximately 11:27 p.m., Savannah Police Department officers responded to a shooting in the 700 block of Tatem Street. They discovered 19-year-old Mahki Hampton with serious injuries; he was transported to Memorial Hospital, where he succumbed to his wounds the following day.
