Kenneth Bryant, a 37-year-old man known to some of his loved ones as "Budda," was a resident of Savannah, Georgia. He was born on November 10, 1987, and his life was cut short in the final month of 2024.
On the morning of Saturday, December 7, 2024, a neighbor in the 1100 block of Parnell Avenue made a tragic discovery. At approximately 6:30 a.m., Mr. Bryant was found unresponsive in an open, unbuilt lot in the residential area.
The Savannah Police Department was called, and officers arrived at 6:36 a.m. First responders at the scene determined that Mr. Bryant was deceased. His body was then taken into the custody of the Chatham County Coroner's Office.
The investigation quickly determined that Mr. Bryant was the victim of a homicide. The coroner, David Campbell, confirmed that he had been shot at least one time. An autopsy was scheduled to learn more. Neighbors who spoke with reporters said they had seen a bullet wound on Mr. Bryant's head. They also noted that a nearby Shot Spotter gunfire detection device had not been activated, leading them to speculate that he might have been killed elsewhere and his body moved to the lot where he was found.
Two days later, on December 9, the Savannah Police Department announced that they had identified a person of interest in the case: Kevin Wilson, also known as "Fifty." Police stated that Wilson was believed to be driving a white Dodge Ram pickup truck with Georgia license plate #CWJ1745. This announcement marked the beginning of a months-long search for the suspect.
The manhunt for Kevin Wilson concluded in June 2025. After several months, authorities located and arrested the 39-year-old suspect, whose full name was Kevin Michael Wilson. Following his capture, he was officially charged with the murder of Kenneth Bryant. As of June 2025, the case was proceeding through the legal system.
