In the early evening of October 11, 2023, the life of 18-year-old Ra’Juan Spicer, a Black / African American male, was tragically cut short in Topeka, Kansas. Just after 5:30 p.m., police responded to a call of a shooting in the 1200 block of SW Clay Street. Upon arrival, first responders discovered Spicer with a life-threatening gunshot wound. Despite the efforts of emergency medical personnel, he was pronounced deceased at the scene. His death marked the 28th homicide in the city that year. ...
