On Tuesday, October 10, 2023, in Topeka, Kansas, Victor was fatally shot at a residence in the southeastern part of the city and was pronounced dead at the scene. He was a student at Topeka West High School, known for his love of martial arts, wrestling, and reading everything from Sherlock Holmes to mythology. He was a member of the Topeka Blue Thunder wrestling team, played the trumpet, and was described as strong in his faith.
The investigation into Victor's death, which marked the city's 27th homicide of the year, quickly led to a suspect. A 17-year-old male was arrested in connection with the shooting. The charges brought against the teenager were severe, including murder in the first degree and aggravated robbery, indicating a violent and premeditated nature to the crime. The young suspect was taken to the Shawnee County juvenile department of corrections to await legal proceedings.
