Javen Earl Fondren, a 19-year-old Black male, was fatally shot on the evening of May 10, 2016, in Topeka, Kansas. The incident occurred at approximately 7:33 PM in the 600 block of SE Lawrence. When officers from the Topeka Police Department arrived at the scene, they discovered Fondren suffering from a gunshot wound. He was later pronounced dead.
