On July 21, 2024, 18-year-old Branden Jamal Baskin was found deceased at Klamm Park in Kansas City, Kansas. Authorities responded to a reported shooting at approximately 6:30 p.m. and discovered Baskin's body upon arrival. Subsequently, two adults and one juvenile were taken into custody. The Wyandotte County District Attorney charged 21-year-old LaRon Jaka Belcher III with first-degree murder in connection to Baskin's death.
