In the winter of 2023, the life of 13-year-old Keddrick Demond Turner was tragically cut short in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. On the afternoon of Thursday, January 26th, shots rang out on Sharon Hills Boulevard. Authorities with the East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office responded to the scene around 4:50 p.m. and discovered that a young teenager had been struck by gunfire.
Keddrick was found inside a vehicle at a gas station situated less than half a mile from the location of the shooting, near
Mickens Road. He was in critical condition and immediately transported to a local hospital for emergency medical care. For several days, he fought for his life, but the severity of his injuries proved to be too great. On Monday, January 30, 2023, Keddrick Demond Turner, a male, succumbed to his wounds and passed away.
Born on March 23, 2009, to Natasha Jones and Clarence Swayzer, Keddrick’s death left his family and community in mourning. As of the information available, no arrests have been publicly announced in connection with the shooting, and there has been no identification of any suspects.
