In the late hours of a Sunday in Alexandria, Louisiana, the life of 43-year-old Eric Dewayne Perry, a Black male, was tragically cut short. On March 19, 2023, Perry was found deceased, the victim of a fatal shooting. The Alexandria Police Department responded to the scene and immediately began an investigation into the homicide.
Within days, the investigation led to the apprehension of two suspects.
Alexandria residents Tyaisco Smith and Shatorria Brown were taken into custody in connection with Perry's death.
