Elliot Branch Dauzart, 23, was killed on April 30, 2023, in Alexandria, Louisiana, when gunfire cut through a downtown stretch near Johnston Street and left him mortally wounded. By the time first responders converged on the scene, he had been found in the parking lot between the Greater Alexandria Economic Development Authority and the building that houses the federal post office on Johnston Street, a stark, open space that offered little cover once the shooting started.
