In the early morning hours of August 19, 2023, the life of Drapper Levar Anthony Sr., a 44-year-old African American man, was tragically cut short. His body was discovered by Iberia Parish Sheriff's Office deputies around 3:00 a.m. on the back porch of a residence in the 900 block of Orange Grove Drive in New Iberia, Louisiana. Mr. Anthony, a resident of nearby Lafayette, had sustained fatal gunshot wounds.
