On August 19, 2023, at approximately 3 a.m., deputies from the Iberia Parish Sheriff's Office responded to reports of a shooting in the 900 block of Orange Grove Drive in New Iberia, Louisiana. Upon arrival, they discovered the body of 44-year-old Drapper Levar Anthony, Sr., of Lafayette, on the back porch of a residence. The circumstances surrounding his death are under active investigation by local authorities.
