On the evening of April 12, 2025, 14-year-old African American male Rylon Martrel Daniels was fatally shot during the New Iberia Spanish Festival in Louisiana. The incident occurred shortly after 10 p.m. on West Main Street. Emergency responders transported Rylon to Iberia Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 10:45 p.m.
