Death by Force

Breyton Boudreaux, a 22-year-old Black/African American male, was shot on the afternoon of July 27, 2025, in the parking lot of the Walmart on Parkview Drive in New Iberia after clocking in for his shift. Officers arrived around 2:15 p.m. to find him suffering from a gunshot wound; he was transported to a local hospital and then airlifted to Lafayette, where he died from his injuries later that day. His death was confirmed publicly in funeral notices in the days that followed.
