Lajah Chantilly Clarisa Small, a 26-year-old resident of Shreveport, Louisiana, lost her life to gun violence on September 2, 2023. Her death was one of the many tragic incidents that contributed to the alarming rise in homicides in Shreveport during 2023, a year that saw a total of 72 homicides, nearly double the number from the previous year.
