In the late hours of August 3, 2025, the life of 26-year-old Sherpatrick Washington was tragically cut short inside her home in Shreveport, Louisiana. First responders were called to the residence located in the 1000 block of Dalzell Street, where they discovered Washington deceased. She had sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene at 9:47 p.m. Her death marked the 24th homicide in the city of Shreveport that year and the 29th in Caddo Parish.
The Shreveport Police Department's Violent Crimes Unit immediately launched an intensive investigation into the circumstances surrounding Washington's death. Their efforts over the following days and weeks led to the identification of a suspect. On August 28, 2025, detectives arrested Dion Randle in connection with the homicide. Randle was subsequently charged with one count of second-degree homicide.
The investigation did not conclude with Randle's arrest. Continuing their diligent work, detectives identified a second individual believed to be involved in the crime. On September 2, 2025, the Shreveport Police Department announced a second arrest in the case. Lloyd Graggs was taken into custody and charged with second-degree murder. The investigation also led to a revision of the initial charge against Dion Randle, who was then charged with one count of principal to second-degree homicide. Both men were booked into the Shreveport City Jail as the judicial process against them commenced.
