Valerie Dowden Wells, a 47-year-old female, found her life tragically cut short in a violent encounter in Shreveport, Louisiana. On a Monday afternoon, while in her car in the parking lot of a McDonald's, she was shot multiple times. The man who fired the fatal shots was identified as 46-year-old Robert Gaddy, who then took his own life with the same weapon. Both Wells and Gaddy were transported to a nearby hospital, where they were pronounced dead.
The investigation into the tragic event revealed that Wells and Gaddy had been in a relationship. It is believed that Gaddy and Wells had known each other since middle school and had recently begun dating. According to Wells' teenage daughter, Gaddy had displayed jealousy regarding her mother's continued contact with her father. While law enforcement acknowledged they were looking into this as a possible motive, they also conceded that with both individuals deceased, the precise reasons for the murder-suicide might never be fully confirmed.
