In the late evening of August 18, 2025, a tragic and senseless act of violence cut short the life of 28-year-old Labriesha Patterson, a mother from Shreveport, Louisiana. Patterson was driving in the 1600 block of Martin Luther King Drive around 10:30 p.m. when she was struck by multiple gunshots in what police have described as a drive-by shooting. The heartbreak of her death was compounded by the fact that it occurred on the eve of one of her son's birthdays.
