Za’Niyahia Theus, an 18-year-old African American woman, tragically lost her life on June 1, 2021, in Shreveport, Louisiana. She was found behind a dumpster at a housing complex on Lakeshore Drive, having suffered a gunshot wound to the head. Theus was immediately taken to the neurological intensive care unit at Ochsner LSU Health Hospital, where she fought for her life for over two weeks before succumbing to her injuries on June 16, 2021.
