The events leading to this tragedy began to surface as the Shreveport Police
Department launched an investigation. It was determined that Mykeydrea had found a loaded firearm that had been negligently left unattended by her father, 20-year-old Trevonte J. Brown. In a moment of childish curiosity, she tragically discharged the weapon, inflicting a fatal wound upon herself. The initial reports indicated the child was in stable condition, but sadly, she succumbed to her injuries two days later, on February 5, 2021.
