In the early morning hours in Shreveport, Louisiana, a grim discovery was made at a home in the 400 block of West 82nd Street. A concerned individual went to check on the residents and found the bodies of 29-year-old Adriana Perry Rigsby, her 12-year-old son, Xavier Perry, and her 18-year-old brother, Joshua Perry. All three had been fatally shot in what investigators believe stemmed from a domestic dispute.
The immediate focus of the investigation turned to Adriana's husband,
36-year-old Barry Rigsby. He was quickly identified as the suspect in the triple homicide, and a manhunt was initiated. The search for Rigsby spanned across northern Louisiana, eventually leading law enforcement to an apartment complex in Wisner, south of Winnsboro. His vehicle had been discovered abandoned in a nearby field, heightening the suspicion that he was in the vicinity.
As Franklin Parish sheriff's deputies began evacuating residents from the apartment complex, the situation escalated dramatically. Shots were fired at the officers from a vacant apartment where Barry Rigsby had barricaded himself. A State Police SWAT team was called to the scene. After attempts to resolve the standoff, which included the use of tear gas, more gunshots were heard. The confrontation ended with Barry Rigsby being shot and killed by state police, bringing a violent end to the search for the man suspected of killing his wife, stepson, and brother-in-law.
