In the late summer of 2019, the life of 25-year-old Princess Cooper was tragically cut short in Shreveport, Louisiana. On the evening of September 18th, gunshots rang out on Egan Street in the Highland neighborhood. When first responders arrived, they found Princess suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. She was rushed to a nearby hospital, but her injuries proved to be too severe, and she succumbed to them shortly after arrival.
The female victim's death was quickly ruled a homicide, sparking an investigation by the Shreveport Police Department.
The investigation into Princess Cooper’s murder led authorities to identify a suspect in the fatal shooting. A warrant was issued for the arrest of 33-year-old Ricky Walker. A few days later, a tip from Crime Stoppers led to Walker's apprehension. He was taken into custody without incident and formally charged with second-degree murder in connection with the death of Princess Cooper. The arrest brought a swift, if not complete, sense of resolution to a community shaken by the violent loss of a young life. Friends and family mourned the passing of Princess, remembering her as a vibrant and loving individual.
